Stichting EGO After School Programs are activity-based programs where children get to develop various skills in a safe and engaging environment. The main focus of our nonprofit organization is to improve the well-being of children on the island. Within this context close communication is kept with the Student Care Coordinators of the various schools as to devise plans and strategies to improve the well-being of our students. Our after-school programs are located on the premises of the various Catholic Schools. Our students are motivated to develop various skills at their own pace. We work with professional youth leaders and coaches to ensure that our students get the best possible experiences. We offer various activities such as arts & crafts, chess lessons, homework guidance for group 7 and 8 students, culinary activities, fieldtrips, swimming lessons, tennis, track and field, kayaking, Djembe, horseback riding, Performing and Visual arts from the coaches of the National institute of Arts (NIA), soccer from the St. Maarten Football Federation and much more. Stichting Expertise Centrum Ervaringsgericht Onderwijs St. Maarten (Stichting EGO) is a non-profit organization that has as its objectives:
To consolidate and improve the well-being of young people in general and within their family, taking as central values:
• Act as a center of expertise for EGO (experiential education) (including organizing conferences, sharing ideas and material/literature, organizing further training/workshops.
• Intensive supervision of schools in implementing experiential education
• Individual support for pupils in deprived areas
• Information/distribution of EGO material/literature
• To support implementation projects with the assistance of trainees and contacts from Dutch Universities or Teaching Academies
• To organize the exchange of professional teachers
