A message from the Executive Director Mrs. Lilia Aventurin-Hodge

Dear Colleagues,

“We are called to Rejoice in the Lord” Theme School Year 2023-2024

For this school year 2023-2024, I would like to share a powerful message that resonates deep within our hearts. It is a theme that reminds us of the everlasting joy and boundless strength we find in our connection with the divine. We are called to rejoice in the Lord!

Life is a remarkable journey, filled with its share of ups and downs, triumphs and tribulations. There are moments when the weight of the world seems too heavy to bear, and we may find ourselves searching for solace, hope, and purpose. It is precisely during those times that we must remember the power of rejoicing in the Lord.

To rejoice in the Lord is to acknowledge the presence of something greater than us, a force that transcends our limited understanding. It is an invitation to embrace gratitude for the blessings that surround us and to find strength in the face of adversity. Rejoicing in the Lord does not deny the challenges we encounter; rather, it empowers us to rise above them with unwavering faith.

In our quest for happiness, we often seek joy in external circumstances—material possessions, professional success, or personal relationships. While these aspects of life can bring temporary delight, true and lasting joy can only be found when we connect with the depths of our spiritual being. It is in the Lord that we discover an unshakeable foundation for our joy.

When we rejoice in the Lord, we become instruments of love, compassion, and peace in a world that is often filled with strife and division. Our joy becomes contagious, inspiring others to seek a deeper connection with the divine and experience the transformative power that lies within. By radiating joy, we can be the catalysts for positive change and agents of healing in our communities. We are then the best role model that we can be for our students and colleagues.

Rejoicing in the Lord is not a passive act; it requires active participation and intentional cultivation. It demands that we nurture our relationship with the divine through prayer, meditation, and reflection. It calls us to practice forgiveness, to embrace humility, and to extend kindness to others. It compels us to live with purpose and to align our actions with our beliefs.

When we rejoice in the Lord, we unlock the limitless potential within us. We discover strength in times of weakness, peace in times of turmoil, and hope in times of despair. Our burdens become lighter, our hearts become fuller, and our spirits soar with the knowledge that we are connected to something greater than ourselves.

This school year 2023-2024, let us choose joy. Let us answer the call to rejoice in the Lord, for it is in that sacred space that we find the courage to face our challenges, the resilience to overcome our obstacles, and the grace to transform our lives and the lives of those around us.

May our hearts overflow with gratitude and our spirits be lifted with boundless joy. Let us go forth from this place, spreading the light of love, peace, and joy wherever we may tread. Rejoice in the Lord, my colleagues, for through our rejoicing, we shall change the world.

Thank you, and may blessings abound in your lives!
